Myang – the new absolutely precious range of baby shoes and accessories. I was invited to the launch on Friday, at At the Table in Parkhurst. You know when you see something in a shop or on someone else’s baby that makes you go awwwww and makes your loins tremble – just for that second – with the longing for another baby? Yes, that. The minute I walked in and spotted the adorable fashion, I was ooooohhing and aaaaaahhing and literally baby drooling over the most cutest little shoes, with matching head bands and sun hats.
It’s not your everyday design. The materials and designs are trendy, your baby will be the talk of the play park in her anglais peep toe pumps. The soft felt-bottom shoes are best for growing little feet and the handmade quality is top notch. Available in sizes 0 – 24 months, in a variety of designs for both girls and boys. There are shoes for every season, for every quirky whim – fur boots to checkered Mary Jane’s to denim or corduroy peep toes. The cute head bands for girls are available from 0 – 36 months and the sun hats for both girls and boys are available in the same age range. AND you can match your shoes to your head band or sun hat if you so wish. Can you say KAYOOT?
Included in the range are blankets in soft cotton and fleece, I think these make an awesome gift for a new mom and baby. I know I’ll be shopping here for the special moms-to-be in my life. Even better, you can shop online and from what I hear, Myang will be in stores near you in the not too distant future.
What I really dig about this brand is that it is a female run business in Port Elizabeth, who employ mainly disadvantaged women. It warms my heart to support people and brands who are in the business of giving back to their communities.

Myang – little things for little ones
Myang, South African designers and producers of beautiful hand-made, baby fashion and accessories are launching their gorgeous new range. It consists of various baby shoes and accessories for children aged between 0 and 24 months.
The collection consists of original and fun fashion items for babies and tots. They range from shoes, to head bands, blankets and other accessories. Designer, Sarah Massey-Hicks brings an element of style into her products, while ensuring that all items remain practical and comfortable.
“We have had many adult women ask whether we can produce our unique shoes and beanies for adults, as they have instantly fallen in love with them, but for now we are concentrating on babies and tots. You never know what the future may bring though,” indicates Massey-Hicks.
“This is an all-woman endeavour, comprised largely of disadvantaged women in the Port Elizabeth area. Myang provides them with the skills development and an income, in an area of the country that is marked by deprivation and poor employment opportunities. Myang encapsulates my love of fashion, crafts and up-liftment projects in a delightful way,” comments Mari Sheard, partner at Myang.
The little accessories are delightful and provide a unique alternative to the many types of children’s fashion options on the market, purchases can be made by visiting the online shop www. myang.co.za
